Deposit, Refund, and Cancellation Policy

CeMar Surgery® publishes its deposit, refund, and cancellation policy, which is documented in the Medical History Questionnaire (HQ) and the Consent Form. This policy applies to all surgeons and types of surgery at CeMar Surgery. If you have any questions about these policies, please contact your patient coordinator.

Deposit and Reservation for Bariatric Surgery

Security Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $600.00 (United States dollars) must be made on the day of scheduling your surgery. If you make a deposit via bank transfer or direct deposit, please send a copy of the bank transfer receipt or direct deposit with your name to [email protected] to ensure proper credit. Any deposit less than $600 usd is non-refundable.

Remaining Balance Deposit: The client must pay the full remaining balance for the surgery (and provide proof of payment) twenty-one (21) days before the surgery. Clients must have a zero balance before traveling to Mexico. If you cancel or postpone the surgery, the remaining balance deposit will be subject to our refund and cancellation policy (outlined below). Surgery will be canceled/postponed until the full payment for the surgery is credited to our account. Any costs incurred by the client due to late payment and processing times, such as additional hotel nights, flight cancellations or rescheduling, will be the sole responsibility of the client.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Due to preparation costs (e.g., transportation reservations, hotel bookings, coordination time, nutritional consultation, Psychological Consultation, hospital space, scheduling of hospital staff, surgical team time slots, supplies ordered according to the surgery program, etc.), all refunds will be handled based on the following criteria:

Before the Trip
  • If the client cancels 46 DAYS or more before the ORIGINAL surgery date, a full refund of the $600 deposit plus any additional payment will be provided, less various costs incurred by CeMar Surgery®, including but not limited to transportation, hotel accommodation, pre-operative tests, medical fees, companion fees, processing fee ($25.00), nutritional consultation ($150.00), Psychological Consultation ($150.00), etc.
  • If the client cancels within 31 to 45 DAYS before the ORIGINAL surgery date, a refund of 60% of the $600 deposit plus any additional payment will be provided, less various costs incurred by CeMar Surgery®, including but not limited to transportation, hotel accommodation, pre-operative tests, medical fees, companion fees, medical tourism insurance, processing fee ($25.00), nutritional consultation ($150.00), Psychological Consultation ($150.00), etc.
  • If the client cancels within 22-30 DAYS of the ORIGINAL surgery date, the $600 deposit will be forfeited.
  • If the client cancels within 21 DAYS or less before the ORIGINAL surgery date, the client is responsible for paying 35% of the total package cost. If they opted for medical tourism insurance coverage, it will be forfeited (non-transferable and non-refundable).
  • If the surgery is rescheduled, all cancellation rules and policies apply to the ORIGINAL scheduled date.
  • If the surgery is rescheduled within 15 DAYS of the surgery, ALL deposits will be forfeited.
After the Trip
  • If the surgery is CANCELED for reasons such as no-show, non-compliance with pre-operative instructions, incomplete documentation, financing issues, rule violations, nervousness, etc., a refund of 35% of the total package cost will be provided, less various costs incurred by CeMarSurgery®, including but not limited to transportation, hotel accommodation, pre-operative tests, medical fees, companion fees, medical tourism insurance, processing fee ($25.00), nutritional consultation ($150.00), Psychological Consultation ($150.00), etc.
  • If the surgery is CANCELED/POSTPONED due to medical conditions discovered during pre-operative tests or if it is determined that the operation cannot be safely performed for safety reasons, a refund of 35% of the total package cost will be provided, less various costs incurred by CeMarSurgery®, including but not limited to transportation, hotel accommodation, pre-operative tests, medical fees, companion fees, medical tourism insurance, processing fee ($25.00), nutritional consultation ($150.00), Psychological Consultation ($150.00), etc.
  • If the procedure was not completed, and the surgical team determined that the operation could not be safely carried out, there will be NO REFUNDS.
Other Rules
  • All cancellations must be received by CeMar Surgery® in writing, via email, fax, or online.
  • Please allow 8 to 12 weeks for the processing of refunds.
  • If it is necessary to carry out charges, costs/fees incurred by CeMar (dba CeMar Surgery®) will be applied to your remaining balance.
  • If the client reschedules more than once, a $600 usd fine will be applied to the balance.
  • If the client reschedules the surgery with less than 2 weeks before the scheduled date, the client will lose the discounted rate from the original price, and any deposits made will not be refunded.
  • I understand that I am responsible for any fees that my credit card provider may charge for using the card outside of the United States.
  • A 15-day notice is required for hotel cancellation to be eligible for a refund.

  • Acceptance of the refund policy is subject to our most current policy on our website at the time of cancellation.
  • CeMar Surgery reserves the right to change our refund policy at any time.
  • Bariatric vitamin refunds will be subject to the original shipping charges, as applicable, plus a 45% restocking fee.
